Hi mate. Apologies for delayed. As we want to follow forum rules, we prefer not to put any commercial information in the forum. We believe technical is OK, especially for clearing some technical information but as the moderators suggested, the forum is not for selling. If you want to enquire about buying the product, better go through our European website smoothstar.com.
Thanks mate.

MitgliedHi guys – been following this post. Very interesting. We know a little German but won’t try here because of embarrassment. You will understand more of our English than German skills! Entschuldigung!!!
We felt we had to contribute to the conversation.
We recently did a tour of Portugal, Spain and South of France. We are prodmentaly an Australian based company but setup office in Europe now due to demand of our product. We met with all top European surf coaches and European Surfing associations. All of them were convinced SmoothStar is the best Surf training skate product – this is now without doubt. It happened in Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. Now it is happened in Europe.
If you want to compare Carver and SmoothStar you really need to try it yourself. If there are people out there that don’t like SmoothStar they either have a commercial interest in Carver, never tried SmoothStar or are more of a skater than a surfer.
During our tour of south Europe, we came across some core surfers. These guys liked Carver but didn’t buy one because it didn’t feel like surfing enough. They bought a new 33″ Filipe Toledo model and absolutely love it. We have not had ANY unsatisfied customers not just in Australia but all over the world… NOT a single 1. Some people that owned a Carver still bought a SmoothStar and put their Carver on ebay – they made the switch because they want a product closer to the surf feel.
In all honestly – and from our experience all over the world, the common theme is if you want to improve your surfing, SmoothStar is the preferred choice without doubt. If you would rather more of a skate feel with more stability Carver is preferred. Carver is a great product, don’t get us wrong but it is more skate than surf.
SmoothStar has been around a long time. Many now famous Australian surfers grew up on SmoothStar. These include : Owen Wright, Sally Fitzgibbons, Tyler Wright and Laura Enever. Some pics attached.
Also some pictures of the comparison.
So if there are die hard Carver riders that have never tried smoothstar for surfing, we ask you to open your mind. If you buy it and believe it doesn’t feel more like surfing we will refund your purchase. That is how confident we are. No bullshit guys.
Hope all this helps clear some of these discussions and hope that some of you guys get a chance to give SmoothStar a try, we think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Any questions let us know… we know the products very well, we’ve been doing this for over 10 years now!
